I volunteered with a global collective of artists in a project for a community that faced PTSD among children living near military operations. Our role was to build giant puppets, then lead workshops where the kids get to decorate and bring the puppets to life. Seeing their faces light up was the most touching part.
After the workshops finished, the kids got to parade their puppets through their schoolyards and watch the work come to life.
